*extreme headache* Neutral

The bad news is, I gotta go down to the Sentosa Vivocity office later in the afternoon to help settle that pay dispute that (inadvertently) involved me. Expect heads to roll. Mad

The good news: I've just (finally!) finished installing the drivers for the printer/copier/scanner/fax which VK gave me. It works like a charm. Very Happy

someone posted a few hours agon on the edmw forum that his starhub user friend tio letter yesterday leh.

what I find really unfair is that apparently some earlier singnet users who only download less than 10 episodes of anime kena the same fine as the idiots who download thousands of episodes!!!!

the Bear SG

hmmm.. isn't xp plug and play?

or plug and pray? Razz

Fatum SG

it's to make money one mah ..... Laughing

av98m SG

I can just see the RIAS swooping in after Odex is done Rolling Eyes

*imagines hundreds or thousands of singaporeans running magnets over their HDDs and burying them* Mr. Green

the Bear SG

and.. what has fair got to do with Xedo? Laughing

10 episodes = about.. max.. $40 worth of actual DVD discs..

so.. what is Xedo going to answer this?

anyway, i still think they're screwed if they keep going on this road.. but then, they're screwed anyway.. they've pissed off the whole anime-watching community here...

i wonder if Blue Max or whoever uses this as a way to muscle in on the hugeass gap?

because the brown-nosing bastards in MDA sure as hell isn't going to allow anything through

sbst275 SG

morning Laughing

Fatum SG

don't have to ... can't run away anyways ....

they just have to get a court order to get the ISPs to reveal their records .... Laughing

and of course, whatever Odex can get the ISPs to do through the courts, ISD, etc, can do with just an email ....

av98m SG

Bluemax could be secretly rushing to release an online VDO service Twisted Evil

Xedo is doing the same but its hard to say if people will bear a grudge and refuse to bite.

Personally I'd rather buy decent DVDs because VDO is compressed and I'm a video snob too Mr. Green

the Bear SG

a lot of techno geeks are otakus.. and a lot of otakus are techno geeks..

a lot don't have much to do except bear grudges Twisted Evil

sbst275 SG

Someone wrote an article saying what on earth is Odex doing... It does not go gam with the laws, kinda like a bit of using copyright law, a bit of criminial law... apa ini

Anyway... China Airline has painted white paint over the doomed aircraft to prevent more negative reports on the airline

av98m SG

In November, 2006, a Judge in a Brooklyn Federal court upheld the legal theory behind a defense claiming that the RIAA's damages theory -- which calls for aggregating statutory damages of $750 per song in its lawsuits -- is unconstitutional, since the record companies' actual damages are less than $.70 per song

but this is singapore courts, so I'm not confident they care about consumer rights Laughing

av98m SG

Odex is twisting the law and using fear and intimidation to get its way.

Hey!! That sounds familar Laughing

sbst275 SG

Durai Laughing

*feels much better after having too much breakfast in my tum* Very Happy

I hope you were not up all night doing that!!!!

I even had time to pack my bags for my company trip tomorrow.

Went down to LC Foodcourt Katong for Nasi Lemak and kopi with my old men bikers and got home around midnight.

Woke up early again this morning, but took my time getting out of bed.

Even manage to bring the DVD player & a electric hotpot to the office, along with some other things I need to give/sell away so I can make it easier to move into the utility room end this week.

The latest I need to move into my utility room is the 28th of this month. And I still need to finish the drilling, puttying and the painting of the walls and ceilings.

I am getting ambitious.....I am now thinking of painting the whole kitchen Wink

I am greedy.

the Bear SG

nope.. MIW themselves...

and if the law doesn't fly with their actions, they change the laws..

av98m SG

I will henceforth only buy R1 and R2 DVDs direct from USA or Japan. Laughing

Even if another company sets up shop here and sells decent stuff. There's always a chance that they will be related to Xedo or be Xedo under another guise.

sbst275 SG

I still remember the PM said something...

If the small biz feel they can't compete with the big corp, just wind up the biz

the Bear SG

you think the otakus will go dig up the records to see if it's a Xedo subsidiary?

they did that for Xedo.. and they have long long LONG memories Twisted Evil
